The big A....Aftercare. It is by far the biggest advantage or maybe even disadvantage to getting the most out of your service. None of us have the luxury to be tossing shiny coins into the bin (if you do, completely ignore this and I will happily see you every week :)) so jot this stuff down and don't forget it! The first 24-48 hours are crucial to the longevity of your set. How you care for them during this time will set the tone for the next 2-3 weeks to come. Come to your appointment fully showered so you don't have to come into contact with heavy water and steam during this time (hit the gym in the A.M. so you're not sweating on them shortly after your appointment. You would be surprised how many woman go to the gym and don't take a shower and think its ok. lol. Its really not.). Our adhesive dries from the outside in, so even though it appears to be dry, the inside is still working within the first couple of hours to fully harden. After the first hours you are welcome to resume your normal life. Always brush them after you get them wet. Those lashes will stay in the position they dry in much like our real hair. Blow drying them on the cool setting works wonders as well. If we allow them to dry twisted and curled, that position will put the adhesive under pressure and they will pop off. Cleaning them is just as important. When I apply the extension, I apply them a millimeter away from your lash line. In that pocket is where dirt, dead skin cells, makeup and lotions like to build up and hide. This build up will break the bonds of the adhesive and will shorten the life of your lashes. Not to mention, leaving your lashes in a constant dirty state will encourage lash mites.... yes. You read it right. MITES (technically known as Blepharitis but I'm not trying to get all fancy just google it!). Clean night and day or you'll be a itchy HOT MESS! Hot but still......a mess. Most people get the misconception that the more you brush and clean them, the more you agitate them and the more they will pop off. It's quite opposite actually. The cleaner and well maintained they are the longer they will stand. If you notice that your extensions are going a little haywire at the end of your 2-3 weeks I always suggest purchasing extension safe mascara and using it lightly to hold your rebellious lashes in place. Never pluck or pull! You will take the natural lash with it and when it's time to come back in you'll have less and less to fill. This goes for trimming as well (you'd be surprised how often I have to flick some hands from doing this 😹). Clean and gentle. Clean and gentle. Clean and Gentle. Say it with me!
